Dispensers check and give out prescription medications. They look after the stock we have in the dispensary and make sure that we keep our waiting times for receiving prescriptions to a minimum. They run a system of checks to make sure that the dispensed medication is correct and maintain an ongoing safety audit to ensure we retain the highest standards.  They can also answer queries on the supply and availability of medicines, where this is within their competence and can respond to enquiries of a routine nature from patients and their representatives, referring queries to a nurse or doctor when necessary.
